If you’re going to the trouble of hiring someone to document your wedding and turn into a film, then I think it merits more than your usual DVD case.  I just got these in and they’re probably the most elegant DVD case I’ve seen.  They’re hand made in silk brocade and will come with the Spielberg package.  You can order additional copies or as an add on for $50 per copy.

The Spielberg

Teaser Trailer

I’m still tweaking the website, but in the meantime I thought I’d do a quick entry about our new package, The Spielberg.  I just finished Will and Alese Overly’s wedding that I shot up in Iowa and am really excited about it.  This is how I wish my own wedding video had turned out.  I’ve included their teaser trailer and a sample section from their wedding that should help give you an idea of the style of editing that goes into the Spielberg.

The Spielberg Sample

I think its safe to say that I enjoyed editing this wedding more than any other wedding previous.  This is the first time that I’ve really treated a wedding like I would a full length film.  One thing that really made this film special was the amount of work that I spent on just the audio.  Maybe its cheating but I used an audio library and went back and added sound effects like the wind blowing through the trees or birds flying overhead.  I think it added a level of polish that you won’t find in many other wedding films.

It also helped that Will and Alese were such a great couple to work with.

I debated even having two other packages available, because truth be told, the Spielberg is how I’d like to do every wedding.  I feel like its the perfect balance of documenting the actual events and staying true to them, but also maintaining an artistic and narrative feel.  Staying true to the events is important to me, but that doesn’t mean you should sit through an 8 hour wedding video.

The Spielberg might not be for everyone, and I’m perfectly happy with that, but if you’ve looked around and don’t want just another wedding “video” then contact me.  I’m always up for creative ideas and yes I do travel.  In fact the further the better as far as I’m concerned!

Music in the videos is by: Noah and the Whale, Zoe Keating, Death Cab for Cutie, Teitur, and Jon Foreman
